Where the wild things are is a children's book that I grew up reading, and having read aloud to me.
Plot: A young boy named Max, after dressing in his wolf costume, wreaks havoc through his household and is disciplined by being sent to his bedroom. As he feels agitation with his mother, Max's bedroom undergoes a mysterious transformation into a jungle environment, and he winds up sailing to an island inhabited by malicious beasts known as the "Wild Things." After successfully intimidating the creatures, Max is hailed as the king of the Wild Things and enjoys a playful romp with his subjects; however, he decides to return home, to the Wild Things' dismay. After arriving in his bedroom, Max discovers a hot supper waiting for him.

I am intrigued by this idea. I think most of us at least know this story, if not love the book. Might be fun to hide parts of his costume or of the forest in some of the capitals. Possibly?
ReplyDeleteI think this can have a very interesting turn out! There is alot of symbolism in the book and in what pictures so I would deff refer to the book! Can't wait to see your ideas!
ReplyDeleteAwesome choice! I think focusing on the more childlike, loud, energetic, and brave ideas could make this pretty fun.
ReplyDeleteThis book has a pretty fun style. I would love to see how you interpret its unique flair as you make your typeface.
ReplyDeleteA lot of us know this book from our childhood and so it has a child like quality to it. I think it would be very interesting if you approached the design as the grown up version of Max. Maybe have the typeface as mature with a hint of wildness.
ReplyDeleteThis has a lot of potential.
ReplyDeletei imagine something whimsical or organic. Sounds interesting!
