Mendoza- Great Expectations Research

The character I'm doing is Pip from Great Expectations. The book was written in 1860 by Charles Dickens. The character Pip was brought up in poverty by his sister and brother-in-law because his parents died. He is exposed to wealth and fortune and decides that is the life he wants. So he has an opportunity to move to London to become a wealthy gentleman. Throughout the story he meets different people and begins to see how money isn't really everything and those that have money aren't always the best people. He ends up losing his fortune and hooks up with Estella who was this girl he was always after.

Pip:

motivated
passionate
romantic
moral
strong
orphan
gullible
alone
hopeful
optimistic
expects more for himself
powerful conscience
trusting
intelligent
child-like
naive
kind
humble
innocent
curious

  1. Pip is supposed to be a very simple character, even his name is very simplistic and underwhelming. Perhaps that can be a concept you can play off of while designing.

  2. Ive read this story before and it is very interesting with a crazy story line. Its crazy how the woman uses the girl to break a boy's heart.

  4. I agree with the idea of going simplistic on this one. I think this could be a really cool typeface. Nice choice.
